One of Wales’ largest Mixed Martial Arts events ‘Valley of Kings’ returns on May 18th with yet another amazing installment quality MMA and K1 action.
After much demand the show now makes its way to the South Wales Valleys to one of the most state of the art sports facilities in the country. Rhydycar Sports Centre comes off the back of a £5m pound re-developement and features a auditorium capable of seating over 1000 people in tiered seats.
In the main event of the evening Timur Mercanoglu takes on Ben Crook in a bantamweight clash.
Timur fights out of Daves Gym and holds a record of 3-0. He is coming off a submission win over Belal Miah on Shock n Awe this past October and will be looking to continue the win streak coming into 2013. Of his 3 professional wins, all 3 have come by way of submission so he has shown that his ground game is to be feared. Will Ben be able to defend Timur’s feared guillotine choke? May 18th is the day we find out.
Ben Crook is a seasoned fighter on the UK MMA circuit holding notable wins over Joe Orrey and Scott Pooley. He brings to the cage a record of 6-7 having fought on many high level shows including Cage Warriors. He fights out of Lions Den and he too is known for his submission game, with all 6 of his wins coming via that method, with 3 of those being by triangle choke.
This is a great fight for Welsh fans, as well as fans nationwide, as the up and coming prospect, in Timur Mercanoglu, meets the experienced fighter, in Ben Crook. Don’t you dare miss it!
In the co-main event, Chris Morgan takes on Sam Hardy in a Lightweight bout. Morgan fights out of Tillery Combat alongside the likes of Kris Edwards and Martin McDonough and Sam Hardy is fighting out of Newport MMA. Both guys from respectable Welsh gyms so no doubt this will go down to the wire.
Also on the card is a light heavyweight contest between Simas Norkus and Darren McGuire. Norkus fights out of Brotherhood MMA, whilst McGuire fights out of The MATT. The big boys are in action and this one is not going the distance!
