After the announcement of the 3 pro title bouts, Mike Neun-Pete Brown, Nathan Greyson-Carl Hunt and Fadi Jameel-Kris Barras, set for FIGHT SCENE 6 at the SYNC in Stratford, London, FS have now released just some of the Unified Amateur Rules bouts that are due to take place on the undercard.
Vinny Church will take on Jay Dods in a lightweight title bout.
Vinny Church fights out of Te-At-Su and holds an amateur MMA record of 4-1 as well holding some K1 experience too. In his last appearance on FS at FS5 he lost to Liam Creighton, however was the smaller man as it was a late fight. Previous to that on FS4, he defeated Luke Kew via triangle choke although going into that fight he was the underdog in many peoples opinion.
Jay Dods fights out of Fight Science and holds an impressive amateur record of 7-1. He is a Fight Scene debutant however has dismantled many lightweight amateurs in his MMA career. In his last fight he lost to Simon Marsh on the IFC Christmas bash on the 15th of December at Fight Science Gym, however he will be looking to get back to his winning ways when he steps in to the cage on April 13th for the title.
Liam Creighton will take on Tim Menzies in welterweight contest.
Liam Creighton fights out of Extreme Fighters and holds an amateur record of 5-1, appearing on FS5 with a win over the much smaller Vinny Church. He has said in the past that he wants to fight the best amateurs, so in the most polite way possible wanted the fight with Menzies. A solid game has Creighton got, and he will look to implement it when he comes face to face with Menzies on April 13th.
Tim Menzies fights out of Andy Roberts BJJ and holds an amateur record of 4-0 with his last win being on FS4 with a brutal standing guillotine choke win over Brad Wotchorn. He has shown promise and has been touted as one to watch as he progresses through the amateurs and eventually when he moves into the pro ranks, and when someone asks to fight him, he doesn’t take kindly to it.
Unified Amateur Rules undercard as it stands:
170lbs Liam Creighton 5-1 (Extreme Fighters) v Tim Menzies 4-0 (Andy Roberts BJJ) 155lbs Vinny Church 4-1 (Te-at-su) v Jay Dods 7-1 (Fight Science) 145lbs Daniel Crawford 1-0 (Lions Pride) v Paul Farrugia 3-0 (New Wave Academy) 135lbs Abdullah Salleh 3-0 (Legacy BJJ/KO South) v Juan Carlos Rios 1-0 (Team Titan) 205lbs Steve Evans 2-1 (New Wave Academy) v Darren Springer 0-0 (MMA Clinic) 155lbs Christian Ivaldi 1-1 (New Wave Academy) v TBA 135lbs Diego Barbosa 1-2 (Lions Pride) v Manny Vilkis 1-2 (PoundforPound MMA) 145lbs Luke Kew 1-2-1 (Andy Roberts BJJ) v TBA 145lbs Lee Bam 1-1 (Extreme Fighters) v Sean Carberry 0-2 (Te-At-Su) 170lbs Paul Farrell 1-0 (Te-at-su) v Jack Bradfield 1-0 (MMA Clinic)
