Dawid Farycki, (3-0 MMA), has made a great start to his professional career and is yet to be defeated. At BAMMA 12 he takes on James Macalister in a tough fight. Dawid took some time out to answer some questions about his upcoming fight.
Hi Dawid, thanks for taking the time to do this. Can you tell people a little about yourself?
“Hi my name is Dawid Farycki, I am 20 years old and I train out of team titan”.
You are fighting James Macalister at BAMMA 12. He comes into the fight on a 5 fight win streak. How much do you know about him?
“James Macalister is a good, well rounded fighter with some KO’s and submissions in his record. He has got a good run of 5 wins and that shows that he his in good form”.
What do you see as your best skills?
“I am a purple belt in BJJ, but I like all the aspects of the game from boxing to wrestling and I practice all so I want to be as well rounded as I can”.
You have made an unbeaten start to your career. finishing all 3 opponents. How do you feel about how you have done since turning pro?
“I feel good with the wins you know, but there is no secret that James is going to be my toughest test. But I have been working hard for it and I’m ready for whatever happens in there”.
How is your training going? Is there anything you’ve had to change for this fight?
“I took the fight on short notice 3.5 weeks before the event! However I was sparing and training helping my boys Jody and Nathan to prepare for their OMMAC fights on the 2nd so I just upped my cardio and sparring and i feel good right now with two weeks to go”.
Last time out you defeated Bryan Creighton at BAMMA 11. How was it to get the opportunity to fight on BAMMA and how was the whole experience?
“BAMMA is great you know! They put their shows on the big arena’s and look after their fighters well so it’s been a pleasure to fight for them”.
I will never experience getting into the cage and fighting. And for that I have so much respect for everyone who does it. What’s the feeling like when the cage door is shut and it’s just you and your opponent?
“Fighting and MMA as a sport is very addictive and the feeling you can’t really describe! But you just wanna come back as soon as possible to fight again”.
How did your first get into MMA?
“I started from boxing when I was 14 years old and did it for six months and went into MMA. Right next to my house there was a club and Hendrique Santana was the instructor. So I started doing BJJ and MMA with him and then when I was ready he took me to team titan, where I started training with the pro’s there and now I am part of the family”.
What is your favourite martial art to train?
“Maybe two years ago it was BJJ but now I enjoy every bit of it. I like to wrestle and box as well, so the whole MMA game I should say”.
What is the best thing about fighting and what motivates you to fight?
“The best feeling is when you get a good win and the motivation is my family”.
Away from MMA, how do you like to relax?
“I am a young fighter but I already have lots of responsibilities. I have a fiance and an eight month old baby boy, so I train and work. I don’t get to relax a lot but if I do I play with my son”.
Thanks again for taking the time. Anybody you’d like to thank?
“Thanks to all my team titan family, all the boys and coaches there. And a big thanks to my management, elitemma agency, who are the best in the business!”
