UCMMA have announced via Facebook that next in line for the middleweight title shot against Ben Callum is former champion, Denniston Sutherland. The fight will take place at UCMMA 33 on April 6th.
Callum is riding a 3 fight win streak winning the title in his last outing, and will be looking to make a statement against a legend on the UK scene in Sutherland. Known for his power and aggressiveness, Callum comes out the blocks firing on all cylinders and has only the one loss on his record against now TUF 17 participant, Luke Barnatt.
Sutherland, a former UCMMA champion after losing to Jake Bostwick, will be looking to come back and show the people why he is to be feared. In his last 3 fights he is 2-1, with wins over Leeroy Barnes and Brett Sizeland, however his last fight was a loss at Cage Warriors against Scott Askham. The fire is still in Mad Max’s belly as he tries to rip the title from the grasps of the young up and comer.
This is a big step up for Ben Callum considering the experience that Denniston has and if he were to overcome Sutherland then he achieves his wish of proving his title worth. However Denniston is no mug as we very well know and will push Callum the whole way.
Cliche i know, but this is not to be missed!
